First, the type of SMT mountable components.

SMT mounters that mount a wide range of components are more adaptable than SMT mounters that can mount only SMC or a small number of SMD types. The main factors that affect the type of SMT mountable components are the mounting accuracy, mounting tools, the compatibility of the centering mechanism with the components, and the number and type of feeders that the SMT mountable machine can accommodate. Some SMT mounters can only accommodate a limited number of feeders, while some SMT mounters can accommodate most or all types of feeders, and the number of feeders that can be accommodated is relatively large, obviously, the latter is better than the former. The capacity of the feeder on the SMT mounter is usually expressed by the number of 8mm braid feeders that can be installed on the SMT mounter.

Second, the adjustment range and flexibility of the SMT mounter.

When the SMT mounter is converted from assembling one type of PCB to assembling another type of PCB, the reprogramming of the mounter, the replacement of the feeder, the adjustment of the PCB transfer mechanism and the positioning table, and the adjustment/replacement of the SMT patch head should be carried out.

1. Program the SMT placement machine. There are two programming methods commonly used in SMT mounters: manual instruction programming and computer programming. Low-grade SMT mounters often use manual instruction programming, and the better ones use computer programming;

2, the replacement of the feeder. In order to reduce the time spent on changing the feeder, the common method is to use the "quick release" feeder, and the faster method is to replace the feeder rack, so that the feeder of each PCB type of component is installed in a separate feeder rack for replacement;

3, PCB transfer mechanism and positioning table adjustment. When the size of the replaced PCB is different from the size of the currently mounted PCB, the width of the PCB positioning table and the transfer mechanism for conveying the PCB should be adjusted. The SMT automatic placement machine can be adjusted automatically under program control, and the lower placement machine can be adjusted manually;

4. Adjustment and replacement of SMT sticker head. When the type of component to be mounted on the PCB exceeds the mounting range of a sticker head, or when changing the PCB type, the sticker head is often replaced or adjusted. Most SMT mounters automatically change/adjust the process under program control, while low-grade mounters manually change and adjust the operation;
