First, turret SMT placement machine

The component feeder of turret SMT mounter is placed on a single coordinate moving skip, the substrate is placed on a X/Y coordinate system moving workbench, and the sticker head is installed on a turret. When working, the skip moves the component feeder to the material taking position, the vacuum suction nozzle on the chip head takes the component at the material taking position, and rotates through the turret to the patch position. After adjusting the position direction of the component during rotation, the component is placed on the substrate.

Turret SMT machine advantages: Generally, there are more than a dozen to two dozen sticker heads installed on the turret, and 2 to 4 vacuum mouthpieces to 5 to 6 vacuum mouthpieces are installed on each sticker head. Due to the characteristics of the turret, the action is refined, and the selection and change of the nozzle, the movement of the feeder into place, the taking of components, component recognition, Angle adjustment, table movement, and the placement of components can be completed in the same time cycle, achieving a real high speed.

Disadvantages of turret SMT mounters: mount component type limitations, and expensive.

Two, arch type SMT placement machine

The component feeder and substrate of the arch type SMT mounter are fixed, the sticker head moves back and forth between the feeder and the substrate, the component is removed from the feeder, and the position and direction of the component are adjusted, and then the component is placed on the substrate. Because the sticker head is mounted on the X/Y coordinate moving beam of the arch type, hence the name.

Arch mount SMT machine advantages: the system structure is correct, can achieve high precision, suitable for various sizes, shapes of components, even special-shaped components, the feeder has ribbon, tubular, tray form, suitable for small and medium-sized mass production, can also be used for multiple mount units for mass production.

Disadvantages of the arch type SMT mounter: The distance of the pasting head moving back and forth is long, so the speed is limited.

Due to the adaptation to most of the domestic market demand and the current technical limitations of the domestic placement machine, under the current circumstances, most of the domestic placement machine manufacturers are based on the production of arch type SMT placement machines. Now with the rapid development of arch type SMT mounters, the mounting speed of some arch type SMT mounters can also achieve the effect of the mounting speed of turret type SMT mounters.
